Some time ago, I set a reminder to write about what it means to have a blog that’s been alive for years now. It’s honestly amazing—and a little surreal—that I’ve been doing this for so long. Time is relentless, moving forward without pause, whether we’re ready or not.
I want to make clear that I am not talking about the domain avdibeg.dk, but the actual blog. I registered the domain on March 22, 2022, but the website with a blog section was born on November 11, 2024. Until then, I used to write single webpages, and there was no blog.
Over the years, I’ve written countless blog posts, film reviews, and even some personal reflections. I’ve covered topics like literature and music, among many others. This site has also become a digital showcase for my creative work—my books, essays, short stories, and poems—all collected under Works.
As someone with wide-ranging interests, the website has also become home to projects like Mixtapes and Film Magistery, each a reflection of my evolving passions.
My first blog post was Out From Space, and it was written on November 12, 2004, although I actually wrote Childe Harrold some time before, but it wasn't a blog post, but just some text I had on my website at the time. Potato-potato, maybe?
It's interesting, those first words I wrote in the first post:
Well, these are my first blog words. I don’t know, I was always reluctant to this blog idea, and still am to some degree, because I don’t believe that everything someone writes has a public value. So, I promise (to myself and to you) that I will only write when I should.
It still applies to this day.
My personal website is a kind of treasure trove, packed with things I find interesting or simply want to preserve. I can’t say how long this site will be around, but I hope to keep it going for as long as I can. Here’s to many more years of avdibeg.dk.
