Not that I ever cared, but I've never heard of a so-called honey controversy. Apparently, there are many vegans, who don't consider honey vegan. Uhm, what?! How the heck have I never heard about this, but also WHY is honey not vegan? Because it is processed by bees? Also, the UK Vegan Society had its share of first accepting it vegan, then banishing it, accept it, and... since 1988 it has been banned from the vegan list.
I see a potential in this as a yet another Netflix documentary or something like that.
