There is an avalanche of archaeological evidence out there, and it's getting larger every day. Archaeologists need to get with the program, and hire some actual scientists who might be able to analyse things without needing to fit everything into a preconceived notion about our past - (i.e. 10,000 years ago everyone was walking around in skins, and so on) - it's just simply bad science to say something can't be a pyramid because we don't know what culture could have built it. First, is it a pyramid? If yes, then start looking for the culture. There's actually mountains of evidence of a technologically advanced ancient culture out there to anyone who's looked into it. Monuments like the pyramids and stonehenge don't just appear out of no where. They are not the work of bronze age farmers. HA HA HA HA>!!!!!!.... . Ha.

They also need to stop trying to discredit people who are able to think for themselves and therefore threaten pre-established notions. If archaeologists (and archaeology students) were doing their jobs properly, people from other sciences and disciplines wouldn't need to get involved. It's criminal the neglect that's going on about our ancient past.

Oh and people should check out the photos of pyramids at Gympie Australia on google earth; and also Rex Gilroy's stuff about megalithic australia. I think the fallen menhir and gate of the moon have potential.

Looks like a pyramid... actually might be a pyramid. Search the net for recent photos of the excavations, tunnels under the mound and reports from a geologist and other sciency people and an egyptologist (from egypt) who all say its man made. (well, something intelligent made it).

Do you guys that ridicule the alien theory really think there isn't other intelligent life out there? Have you actually trawled the net to find information on this type of thing?

If you want to look at some amazing ancient structures on the net, find photos of the osirion and valley/khafre temples in egypt; the temples and hypogeum at malta; wayland smithy england; kofun in japan; megalithic structures on sardinia and the balaeric islands; pyramids on the canary islands; all the ancient stuff in Peru - particularly the fortress at ollantaytambo and sacsayahuam (cant spell); temple of the wari; batan grande pyramid; etc etc; (there is too much stuff in peru); long barrows in england; dolmen all over the world - russian dolmen; french dolmen; korean dolmen; irish dolmen; english dolmen; dolmen in jordan and india; find the standing stones in senegal/gambia; obelisks at axum ethiopia and rock cut churches; petra, jordan; the great enclosure at zimbabwe; dacian temples in albania; daorson fortress at stolac, bosnia; candi sukah pyramid in indonesia; pyramids in xian, china; yonaguni, japan; cairns and passage graves in france and so on... (there's much much more). And if you still think cave men learnt how to use fire, then copper then bronze, then built the pyramids and megalithic fortresses (oh, mycenae and tiryns in greece; nekromanteoin; nemrut dagi, turkey; the dogon people and culture; cappadocia; mali; the troglodyte houses in tunisia; dolmen in tunisia) - and moved massive stones like the ones in egypt/stone henge, and peru; and cut them with lazer like precision, on a massive scale; at about the same time they invented bows and arrows and the wheel;..well, if you swallow that, i don't know... Maybe you should look into it a bit more deeply instead of believing what you hear on tv and from so called experts. Don't forget, most people were positive the earth was flat for a while. They were wrong.

Hi Everyone,

Have a look at this website about ancient pyramids that have been found all over the world.

www.geocities.com/area51/orion/3781/pyramids.html

I myself will be waiting to see if any new evidence comes to light. Until then, we do not know what it is.

Either way, I find it very interesting.

Many thanks.

Kiya. :-)

Ummm. . . . as an archaeology grad student, this guy is, for lack of better words, "full of shit." I believe we would call this pseudoscience. Semir calls himself an archaeologist but he has no formal training in the science; he has simply "read up" on the subject. It would be like me not only asserting that I'm an M.D. after skimming through a biology 101 textbook, but then attempting to perform a triple bypass coronary surgery. This guy believes in crackpot theories like the lost city of atlantis, and every second he has access to this possibly valuable archeological site, the less data that can be substantiated by real methodology. He is destroying data by removing it from its context and presenting the information from a horribly distorted perspective.

There was an article about him a couple years ago in Archaeology magazine so you might be able to find some information on him there.
